Annual Fire Extinguisher Certification 

Every year Fire Extinguishers are required by State Law to be serviced and provided maintenance on by a permitted fire extinguisher professional. Once an extinguisher has passed its annual Exam by one of our permitted technicians, a new tag is placed on the extinguisher to show that this fire extinguisher is in service and ready for use I.A.W NFPA 10 and State of FL statutes.

Hydrostatic Testing

Most extinguishers are due for hydrostatic testing every 12 years I.A.W. NFPA 10 and FL Statutes. The process begins by performing a 6 year maintenance, then the extinguisher is filled with water and tested at a pressure as recommended by the manufaturer. Once the extinguisher holds this pressure for the appropriate time frame, it has passed it's Hydro. It is the labeled appropriately and ready for operation once put back together.

6 year maintenance 

Every 6 years (starting from the Manufacturer's date listed on the extinguisher or stamped on it) a Fire Extinguisher must be pulled from service so that a 6 year maintenance can be performed. This process requires discharging the chemical into a specialty hopper, removing all parts of the extinguisher and thoroughly examining the inside of the fire extinguisher at the shop. Once this maintenance is complete, the fire extinguisher is properly labeled with decals and a neck collar indicating the date the service was performed. All parts of the extinguisher are then replaced as needed and it is placed back in service.
